West Bengal is a state in the eastern region of India and is the nation’s fourth-most populous. The state capital is Kolkata (formerly Calcutta). The state encompasses two broad natural regions: the Gangetic Plain in the south and the sub-Himalayan and Himalayan area in the north. The state of West Bengal has significant architectural and natural heritage. The capital of the state, Kolkata is also known as the “City of Palaces”. West Bengal is famous for its terracotta temples of Bishnupur. Kolkata the ‘City of Joy’ of West Bengal is the most apt place for the eager visitants as places of interest in Kolkata are numerous. This eventful city with its many marvels has truly a lot to offer.

West Bengal takes pride in being a home to a diverse form of tourist attrations as the state is gifted with snow clad mountains, vast stretch of sea beaches, enourmous deltas, tea gardens, ancient temples and British monuments. Kolkata, the capital city of the state served as the British Capital till 1912 has rightfully earned the name, “City of Joy” as the city celebrates every kind of festival throughout the year.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA

Arrive Kolkata Airport. On arrival meet and greet our driver who will transfer you to your hotel. Freshen up and today half day sightseeing which will include visit to Victoria Memorial – (Monday closed) – Kolkata’s imposing white marble dream inaugurated by the Prince of Wales in 1921. It is a huge white-marble structure and the most enduring of remains of the British Raj in India. Built by Lord Curzon in memory of the popular monarch, Queen Victoria, it is a wonderful example of the Western style of architecture. It has been now converted in a museum that houses the most impressive collection of memorabilia from the days of Raj. The manuscripts, paintings and sculptures here are outstanding.  Later visit Howrah Bridge – This is one of four on the Hooghly River and is a famous symbol of Kolkata and West Bengal. The Howrah Bridge is the sixth-longest bridge of its type in the world. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at a hotel.

DAY 2: KOLKATA FUN DAY

Today after breakfast we have full day visit to Aquatica water park which is spread across an area of 17 acres of land. Enjoy rides – Black hole, Raft slide, Aqua dance, Niagara Falls, Cyclone, Wave pool, Family pool, Multilane and many more exciting activities. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight at a hotel.

DAY 3: KOLKATA CITY

This morning after breakfast in the hotel, you will proceed with our E.S.G for an orientation tour of the city, including the following places: Flower market – Eastern India’s largest flower market with hundreds of stalls and people sitting on the ground. Around 2,000 flower growers from the surrounding areas come to sell their flowers and garlands and during the wedding a numberd festive season probably double that number. Dalhousie Square (BBD Bagh), the heart of Kolkata and many famous buildings, housing, important businesses and banks are located here. The tour covers Writers Building, today it houses the office of the Chief Minister of West Bengal. St. Paul’s Cathedral Church – Constructed between 1839 and 1847 in Gothic style with stained glass windows and two Florentine frescoes, the cathedral is the largest in the city. St Paul’s was consecrated in 1874. Science City – The Science City, one of its kind in India, inaugurated on 1st July, 1997 has been developed as a major attraction for the residents’ of Kolkata as well as for the national and international visitors to the metropolis. It is one of the largest and finest in the world, presenting science and technology in a stimulating and engaging environment that is truly educational and enjoyable for the people of all ages. It has, over the years, become a place for memorable experience and enjoyment for both the young and the old. Mother House & Museum(Thursday Closed) – Mother House is also known as Missionaries of Charity, Established in 1950 by Mother Teresa, is a Roman Catholic, Mother Teresa spends her crucial 17-years in Darjeeling of Bengal. Kolkata is the center of Mother’s humanitarian activities. The first ever home of her was “Nirmal Hriday” for the dying & sick peoples. She established “Sishu Bhavan” for those who are orphaned, disables and mentally retarded. “Shanti Nagar” was established by her for AIDS hospices and Lepers.

DAY 4: KOLKATA DEPARTURE

After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Airport or railway station for departure transfer to your onwards destination.

DAY 4: SHOPPING IN KOLKATA

Shopping in Kolkata can be fun as the city has some interesting markets where you can get a great deal. Popular purchases include textiles, handicrafts, and terracotta items. Here’s where we go New Market, also known as Hogg’s Market, is Kolkata’s oldest and most well-known market, Handicrafts: Dakshinapan Shopping Center, Oxford Bookstore – Anyone who loves books shouldn’t miss visiting Oxford Bookstore, Chowringhee Road – A huge variety of pavement vendors line Chowringhee Road from Park Street to New Market, Gariahat Road and College Street. DAY 5: KOLKATA DEPARTURE

DAY 3: KOLKATA CITY

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE KOLKATA

Arrival Kolkata Airport/Station and our tour representative will pick you up and transfer you straight to your hotel, after freshen up we visit Dakshineshwar Temple and Belur Math (The headquarters of Ramkrishna Mission), Rabindranath Tagore Museum, Howrah bridge, Kumartoli, Jain temple, depending upon your time after arrival. Overnight stay in Kolkata.

DAY 2: KOLKATA

Today morning after breakfast we start with a visit with Kalighat Temple, Princep Ghat (Kolkata riverside), Victoria Memorial, St Pauls Cathedral, drive past Eden Gardens, GPO, Writers Building, Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity, Birla Planetarium/Indian Museum, and end the day drive through the Park Street which is the heart of the city life. Overnight stay in Kolkata.

DAY 3: KOLKATA – SUNDARBANS  

After breakfast in hotel we start our road drive through the suburbs of Kolkata and then the country side with lush green paddy fields and mud huts with thatched roof which is very unique to this part of the world. It takes about 3.5 Hours to reach the Sundarbans but that is not the forest, it is the place last accessible by road. We then board a boat which takes us through the backwaters with villages on either side until we reach the buffer zone of the forest area and just opposite it is the island where we put you up in the resort for the overnight stay. In the afternoon we go for the visit of the Bird Sanctuary and Sunset point. Later we return to resort and enjoy an evening of tribal dance program. Then have your dinner and retire for the night. Overnight stay in Sundarbans.

DAY 4: SUNDARBANS

Today, after breakfast we visit start for Sajnekhali Watch Tower, Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower and cruise through the rivers and narrow creeks of Pitchkhali – Sarakkhali – Sudhanyakhali. Later we enjoy a boat ride which goes through the dense mangrove forest and numerous rivers while visiting Do-banki Watch Tower. The canopy walk inside the forest is an everlasting memory. Later on, we cruise through Matla Sea Face, the point from where the Bay of Bengal can be seen. Then we return to the resort for campfire where you enjoy amongst yourself. Overnight in Sundarbans.

DAY 5: SUNDARBANS AND DEPARTURE

Today after breakfast we go for village visit of the islands to understand the life of the locals, Later Checkout of the hotel and crusie back through the river and reach the main land. Then we transfer you to car and transfer you to Airport/Station in Kolkata for your onwards destination.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL AT KOLKATA

Welcome on arrival at Kolkata and transfer to hotel, check-in and rest for the day. Evening free for leisure. Kolkata is regarded as the city of joy, contrast and culture. The former capital of India and the current capital of Bengal, Kolkata is the gateway to the north eastern part of India.  A visit to Kolkata may bring visitors to be in touch with combination of a rich 300 years old cultural heritage, vibrant modern life and cultures of different communities. Situated on the banks of river Hooghly, Kolkata was the first headquarter of the East India Company and later served as the capital of British India until 1912. Overnight stay in Kolkata.

DAY 02: KOLKATA SIGHTSEEING

Morning after breakfast start the full day city tour, drive by the old heritage buildings of BBD Bagh and visit the bank of the River Ganga to understand the significance of the mighty river in our life. Also visit the famous Howrah Bridge, Victoria Memorial (museum closed on Monday and National Holidays), St. Paul’s Cathedral and Kalighat Temple, you will finish the day’s tour at the Mother Teresa’s House, the headquarter of the Missionaries of Charity. Transfer back to City Hotel. Overnight in Kolkata.

DAY 03: KOLKATA TO MANDARMANI

Morning after breakfast drive to Mandarmani (180Km / 04 Hrs). Mandarmani is a seaside resort village in the state of West Bengal, India, lies in East Midnapore district and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal. It is one of the large and fast developing seaside resort village of West Bengal. It is almost 180 km from Kolkata Airport on the Kolkata – Digha route. Red crabs crawling around the 13 km long beach is a special attraction of Mandarmani beach. It is argued to be the longest drive able beach in India. Lunch at Hotel. Evening free for individual activity followed by a bonfire. Overnight stay in Mandarmani.

DAY 04: MANDARMANI TO KOLKATA

Morning after Breakfast, walk around the long expanse of 13 km long spectacular sea beach. Enjoy several water sports activities like – Parasailing, Banana Boat Ride, Inner Tube Ride, Speed Boat Ride, Quad Biking, Jet Ski, etc. (On direct payment basis). Post lunch drive to lighthouse & different parts of the sea beach. Later drive back to Kolkata via Digha (195Km / 04.5 Hrs). Evening free for individual activity. Overnight stay in Kolkata.

DAY 05: DEPARTURE TRANSFER.

Post breakfast in the morning straight transfer to Kolkata Airport/Railway station for departure to onwards destination.
