Assam is not just famous for its tea gardens but there is more to this hill station if you really wish to explore. Assam, a treasure trove of natural beauty and diverse history, is one of the least explored regions in the country, lending it an immaculate, untouched aura that is sure to allure you. A land of wild forests, mighty rivers, and acres and acres of tea plantations. Majuli is the largest river island of Asia and is famous for its traditions and its vibrant culture. Assam, located in North East India, has a breath-taking landscape and is known to be one of the top biodiversity hotspots in the entire world.

Assam is more than just a tea estate but home to an endless number of alluring experiences ranging from the jeep safaris at Kaziranga National Park, the cultural river cruise on Asia’s mightiest river Brahmaputra, the phenomenal journey to Asia’s largest river island of Majuli to witnessing the history of Ahom dynasty in Sivasagar. Just to name a few. Assam, the second largest state in the North East India waits to be explored.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA

On arrival meet our tour representative who will pick you up from Guwahati Airport and assist you in your smooth transfer to Kaziranga National Park, one of India’s best kept national parks and famous for its large herds of one-horned rhinos. On arrival check-in to your hotel and rest for the day. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

DAY 2: KAZIRANGA

In the morning, enjoy a thrilling elephant safari at your own cost in central range which will bring you up close to some of the animals. Later after breakfast, go on a guided Jeep safari in the dense forests of western range, with good opportunities to see the migratory birds and sometimes tigers on the banks of Brahmaputra. River Dolphins, wild ducks and turtles can also be seen in the riverside. Kaziranga was declared a protected forest area by Viceroy Lord Curzon in 1904 and later became a UNESCO heritage center for its unique environment and successes on the conservation front. Later after lunch you can go on for a Jeep Safari to the central range. Return back after safari and evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

DAY 3: KAZIRANGA – GUWAHATI

Morning after breakfast check-out and transfer straight to Guwahati. Day is scheduled for sightseeing in and around Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya temple, Nabagraha Temple (temple of nine planets), State Museum (closed on Sunday and holidays), Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra and Balaji Temple. In the evening you will be taken to Brahmaputra River where you can enjoy River Cruise at your own cost. Return back to hotel. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE

Post breakfast in the morning, straight transfer to Guwahati Airport to catch your flight to onwards destination.

Morning after breakfast check out and transfer towards Majuli Island which is approximately 60 kms. On arrival check in to your hotel and rest for the day or explore the island on your own. Evening enjoy bonfire and rest for the day. Overnight stay in Majuli

DAY 4: MAJULI ISLAND

Today we visit the Satras (Assamese Monasteries) and learn about the Neo Vaisnavite culture that is practiced by the monks. Explore the mysteries of the Largest River Island in the World also learn about the lost art of Mask making. Spend time spotting rare birds and fishing. Spend the later part of the day at Majuli with the local people learning about their traditional arts & crafts. Spend time Bird-watching and at leisure. Evening, spend time savoring the locally brewed ‘Apong’ and other servings prepared by the locally by the Bon fire. Overnight stay in Majuli Island

DAY 5: MAJULI ISLAND – JORHAT AIRPORT

Morning after breakfast check-out and straight transfer to Jorhat Airport to catch your flight to onwards destination.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: GUWAHATI TO MANAS NATIONAL PARK  

Arrive Guwahati and our tour representative will pick you up and transfer you straight to Manas. Manas National Park or Manas Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park, UNESCO Natural World Heritage site, a Project Tiger reserve, an Elephant reserve and a biosphere reserve in Assam, India. Located in the Himalayan foothills. Travel all the way by road and arrive Manas. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. You can all enjoy your evening with a bonfire followed by a dinner. Overnight stay in Manas.

DAY 2: JEEP SAFARI IN MANAS NP AND RETURN TO GUWAHATI

Today morning is scheduled for a Jeep Safari. Manas is recognized not only for its rich biodiversity but also for its spectacular scenery and natural landscape which includes a range of forested hills, alluvial grasslands and tropical evergreen forests. It’s home to India’s second-largest tiger population. It is also famous for its population of the Wild water buffalo. Manas harbours the maximum number of endangered species from India. Later after lunch proceed back to Guwahati and check in to your hotel. Evening is free for leisure on your own. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

DAY 3: GUWAHATI

Morning after breakfast day is scheduled for sightseeing in and around Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya temple, Umananda Island Temple, Nabagraha Temple (temple of nine planets), State Museum (closed on Sunday and holidays), Assam state zoo, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra and Balaji Temple. In the evening you will be taken to Brahmaputra River where you can enjoy River Cruise at your own cost. Return back to hotel. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE

Post breakfast in the morning, straight transfer to Guwahati Airport to catch your flight to onwards destination.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVE JORHAT

Our representative will meet you at Jorhat airport or railway station and will transfer you to the hotel. Spend the remaining day at leisure, followed by a comfy overnight stay. Overnight stay in Jorhat

DAY 2: JORHAT – SIVASAGAR – JORHAT

After breakfast we will go for an excursion to Sivasagar. The capital of Ahom dynasty, Sivasagar is situated 60 km away from the Jorhat. Here we will visit the remains of Ahom Kingdom. Visit the Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo. The other remains of the Ahom Dynasty include man-made artificial lake created by Queen Madambika in 1734, Shivdol-the tallest Shiv temple in the world, palaces of Kareng Ghar & Talatal Ghar and Gaurisagar Tank, along with three temples. Later in the afternoon return to Jorhat. Freshen up and then we will explore the nearby tea gardens. We will also visit the Gymkhana club in Jorhat, which is well known as a venue for horse races. The club also holds a lush green 9-hole golf course circuit contending for a position in the “World Heritage List” as the oldest golf course in Asia  (it is presently considered as the third oldest in the world). The club also offers other facilities like lawn tennis grass courts, swimming pool, billiards, polo, gentleman’s bar and cinema theatre. Overnight stay in Jorhat

 DAY 3: JORHAT – MAJULI

Morning after breakfast check out and transfer to Majuli Island. DAY 2: GUWAHATI SIGHTSEEING

Morning after breakfast day is scheduled for sightseeing in and around Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya temple, Nabagraha Temple (temple of nine planets), State Museum (closed on Sunday and holidays), Assam state zoo, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

DAY 3: GUWAHATI – KAZIRANGA

Morning after leisurely having breakfast transfer straight to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival check in to your hotel. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

DAY 4: KAZIRANGA – SHILLONG

Early morning enjoy your Jungle Jeep Safari in Manas and visit points where you can catch a glimpse of the wild animals. There are many animals that inhabit this park and can meet you on the way. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Return back to hotel and pack your bags and transfer straight to Shillong. If time permits visit Umiam Lake. Overnight stay in Shillong.

DAY 5: SHILLONG

Today morning after breakfast the day is scheduled with a full day sightseeing tour in and around Shillong. Explore Elephant falls, Shillong Peak, Lady Hyderi Park, Don Bosco Museum, Ward’s Lake and St. Catholic Cathedral. Overnight at a hotel.   

DAY 6: CHERRAPUNJEE

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunjee with enroute visit to Mawkdok Valley view point. Later proceed to Cherrapunjee and visit Wahkabah Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters waterfalls and Eco Park. Overnight stay in Cherrapunjee.

DAY 7: CHERRAPUNJEE – DAWKI & MAWLYNNONG

After breakfast drive to Dawki. Enjoy boat ride on the clear view water at your own cost. Return and visit Mawlynnong, The cleanest village in India. Visit a Living Root Bridge and walk around the village with paved walkways and beautiful flowerbed. Enjoy an excellent view of plains of Bangladesh. Return back to Shillong. Overnight stay in Shillong.

DAY 8: SHILLONG – GUWAHATI

Post breakfast in the morning, drive back to Guwahati and straight transfer to Guwahati Airport to catch your flight to onwards destination.
